beam of protons”.
Abstract:
In this presentation, I will discuss experimental data on the dielectronic recombination of He-like oxygen ions, obtained at the CRYRING@ESR electron cooler. Dielectronic recombination (DR) is a key process in many astrophysical environments, playing a significant role in the cooling of astrophysical objects. Oxygen, being one of the most abundant elements in the Universe, is especially relevant to these processes.
The experiment was conducted at the low-energy storage ring CRYRING@ESR, where we studied recombination cross-sections using collision spectroscopy. He-like oxygen ions were repeatedly passed through a cold electron beam, which served as a target for recombination. As a result of this interaction, O5+ ions were detected as signatures of the DR process. The data from this experiment are important for refining astrophysical models and improving our understanding of the physical conditions in space.
