Neutrino Oscillation Studies with T2K and Super-Kamiokande Experiments

23 kwietnia 2025 roku o godzinie 13:15 w sali 143 odbędzie się seminarium Instytutu Fizyki, na którym Prof. Justyna Łagoda z Narodowego Centrum Badań Jądrowych  wygłosi referat pt.: „Neutrino Oscillation Studies with T2K and Super-Kamiokande Experiments”.

Abstract:
The presentation will begin with a reminder of the first observation of neutrino oscillations
and an explanation of the oscillation phenomenon. The seminar will then focus on the T2K experiment, which uses a muon neutrino beam from the J-PARC accelerator to study neutrino oscillations over a distance of 295 km, and the Super-Kamiokande detector, a large underground water Cherenkov detector that has played a crucial role in observing atmospheric and beam neutrino oscillations. Most recent results from both experiments will be presented. We will conclude with an outlook on a future experiment, Hyper-Kamiokande, and its potential to further unravel the mysteries of neutrino physics.
